There were once over 5 billion passenger pigeons in the U.S. This year marks the 100th year anniversary of the extinction of this fascinating bird. Spend a day learning all about the bird that once was so populous it blacked out the sky during flight. Guests create passenger pigeon origami, check out a pigeon from our collection and more! At 3pm there will be a lecture on bringing the Passenger Pigeon back from extinction, held at the Museum. The lecture is $5 for the general public, Science Saturday is free.
