Welcome to Science on Tap!

Tap into Knowledge

Science on Tap is our speaker series that mixes the best parts of learning about science with some of the best brews on the central coast! Each event will feature a happy half-hour highlighting beverages from our partners at local breweries followed by a panel discussion from experts about the work they’re doing to benefit our natural world and communities.

Each evening will consist of beverages both alcoholic and non along with small bites and music from 5:30—6:00, followed by talks from 6:00-7:00 and a Q&A from 7:00-7:30. All proceeds from ticket sales go toward creating more educational events and supporting local scientists. Learn more about each session below and sign up today to reserve your space!

June 27: backyard predators

Coexistence in the Urban-Wildland Interface

It’s a fact we’re all well aware of: human settlements don’t exist in a vacuum, no matter where we are, there will always be wildlife to interact with. As we’ve adapted to living in ecosystems so has wildlife, at times to their benefit and at others to their detriment. Join us for an amazing panel all about some of the predators we live with on a daily basis: bobcats, coyotes, and raptors, with an incredible panel of experts including Rachel Roberts, Senior Environmental Scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Cesar O. Estein, NSF Graduate Research & Chancellor Fellow at UC Berkeley’s Schell Lab.

As always, members of all levels receive a discount, and students get in free to the talk with a student ID. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about these important stories.

2024 Individual Prices:

Museum Members: $15.00

General Public: $20.00
