Monarch Docent Training

Join the PG Museum’s incredible team of Monarch Docents! Join our virtual training (via Zoom) to learn about the volunteer program that shares the wonder of the Western monarch butterfly with visitors around the world.

If you are already an active PG Museum volunteer, you can register on the volunteer calendar. If you are not a current volunteer with the PG Museum, register by emailing the Museum’s Volunteer Coordinator at johnston@pgmuseum.org. Once you do so, you will be sent the Zoom link for the training.

Benefits of being a Monarch Docent:

  • In-depth training on the natural history and conservation of the Western monarch butterfly.

  • Interacting with visitors from all around the world in a beautiful outdoor setting.

  • Becoming skilled in informal science education.

Qualifications needed:

  • Monarch Docents must be 18 or older.

  • Docents must be able to commit to, at minimum, one shift per month. Shifts are 2.5 hours long.
