Watershed Guardians
Student Community Science

Watershed Guardians is a free program that provides an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to participate in project based learning by taking water quality data in their local watershed.

A museum educator will visit the classroom to guide students in learning about water quality and the equipment they can use in the field to test it.

After the classroom visit, students meet the museum educator at one of our field locations to conduct water quality tests in the field.

Watershed Guardians programs are designed to be 1 - 5+ day experiences for students. Each learning path provides different levels of support to students and teachers to complete standards aligned projects that can be presented at a spring student research symposium.
